STRICT LIABILITY

• It is the imposition of liability without finding of fault
• This means that even if you are not at fault you are still liable for a strict liability
• The claimant need only prove that the tort occurred
• The law imputed strict liability on things that are considered extremely dangerous.

In Shannon V Wilson three people underage drove up to a drive through alcohol shop and purchased a six pack of beer. They were not required to show Id. The 16 year old exited the vehicle and the rest drank the remaining liquor and crashed shortly after dying on impact, a lawsuit was brought against the liquor store for selling alcohol to a minor.
