PRESENTATION OUTLINE

SLAVERY

By: Micah Hermiz

PART ONE

In 1850, California wanted to become a free state. But the slave states said no no no. So Lincoln says that California is gonna become a free state and stuff, but, all slaves that escaped from the place where they were working can be rightful returned. That was called the fugitive slave act. It was in 1850.

This book is called Uncle Tom's Cabin. It was used to give people an idea of how it was to be a slave. It had an effect on many other countries, too. They wanted to stop slavery now.

This is a map of the Underground Railroad. It was not a literal railroad, nor was it underground. It was a route that slaves followed to freedom!😀

This is the second baptist church in Detroit. It was a major slave stop. Almost 5,000 slaves got food and shelter there.

This is Laura Haviland. She was born in 1808, married Charles Haviland in 1825, and set up the very first route and stops for the very first slave escape route (later known as the Underground Railroad) in 1832.

PART THREE

On April 12, 1861, the confederate soldiers attacked fort Sumter. Then, the civil war began.
