ABOUT SUPERFLEX

SUPERFLEX

A SUPERHERO WHO HELPS CHILDREN DEFEAT THE UNTHINKABLES

UNTHINKABLES

CHARACTERS WHO INVADE CHILDREN'S BRAINS AND CHANGES THEIR BEHAVIOR

GRUMP GRUMPANINY

  • Sometimes I'm grumpy
  • Sometimes I'm rude to people
  • This affects other people and they have uncomfortable thoughts about me
  • It affects me too as it makes me sad
  • It makes me sad as it affects others

Untitled Slide

  • I can change this by thinking of something else and forgetting about what made me angry
  • I can walk away to get a bit of space
  • I try to remember how much fun they are
  • Take a break cards didn't help much
  • I can walk away
  • I can play with someone else until I'm ready to come back

GLASSMAN

  • I have big huge reactions sometimes even if it's the littlest problem
  • Other kids notice and sometimes they don't want to play with me
  • This happens a lot
  • I want to change this
  • It makes me feel like I am not their friend

STRATEGIES

  • Ask the teachers for help
  • See Aerian for help
  • Curling into little ball and waiting till I'm ready to join the game again
  • One thing to try is to look at the size of the problem

SIZE OF THE PROBLEM

  • Sometimes my reaction is too big for the problem
  • For example if I'm running and someone pushes me into a tree accidentally I get furious
  • I could say to myself "they are my friend and they wouldn't hurt me on purpose"
  • 'It hurts right now but the pain will wear off'
  • 'I would like to play with them again so I won't make a fuss'

Untitled Slide

  • One thing I need to know is the different size of problems
  • A big problem would be if someone shoved me hard into a wall on purpose

Untitled Slide

  • A medium problem would be if I forgot to bring something important to school

Untitled Slide

  • Most of my problems are small ones
  • So my reaction should be small
  • A small reaction would be to tell the teacher or talk it out using a normal voice

Untitled Slide

Untitled Slide

  • I am also Brain Eater
  • I know this because I get distracted and don't listen to the other children
  • I think this might make them think that I don't respect them
  • I want to change this

STRATEGIES

  • Look at something closer to them so I can hear them better
  • I find it difficult to look at the person who is talking because I get distracted by them
  • In class I am able to listen to the teachers as I am not allowed to move or they make me look and I can't get away
  • It's boring but I have to do it

Untitled Slide

  • At home I get distracted by TV, games
  • My mum gets really angry when I don't listen. Dad is more polite

Untitled Slide

  • Sometimes I am very energetic
  • If I see something exciting

Untitled Slide

  • Sometimes I do funny stuff at the wrong time
  • For example when we line up for recess - this is the wrong time
  • Sometimes I say a joke to the wrong person and they find it offensive
  • I wait to see if they think its funny before I tell the joke. I try the joke out first to test it

Untitled Slide

  • He works together with energy hare-y
  • He makes me move side to side
  • I take body breaks which helps
  • The teacher takes me outside to do some jumping - this helps
  • Fidget tools help me too
  • The Hokki stool helps a lot
  • The back jacks help too as I can stretch my feet out and stop the energy
