Cuban support for Castro’s revolution grew in the late 1950’s partially due to his charisma and nationalistic rhetoric, but also because of increasingly rampant corruption, greed, brutality, and inefficiency within the Batista government.

Fidel Castro helped the Cuban economy improve even with the US embargo active by focusing on trade with the Soviet Union.

He went against his promises to the people. He promised them a democracy and then changed the type of government up on the people without their support in the decision.
