Thousands of people
Cheering with excitement
Then complete silence
The tension building, more, and more
Everyone holds their breaths
Then like an explosion,
Yelling, cheering, whistling
All simultaneously as if it were timed
The timer resets as half time begins
And people scatter in search for food
And bathrooms
It was given to me quite a few years ago
As a gift to make me feel better,
Before I had my heart surgery
It's a rice stuffed bear I can heat up in the microwave,
then use it on my back when it's sore
It's the only thing besides pictures
And memories
That I have left from my surgery
It's funny too because it was given to me
By my favorite teacher aid,
Speaking of which, I still wish I could find
The small, stuffed, yellow bear that I received when I went through my first MRI
My surgery wasn't a fun time,
But I had things to keep my happy
And to keep me going through it
