LETITIA MUMFORD GEER

  • Born in New York on 1852
  • Invented the Easier-Use single handed syringe.
  • Died on 1905 (aged 83)
  • Invented the syringe when she was thirteen.
  • Practically a child genius
  • Records say that she graduated with a PhD from Yale University when she was 15.
  • Co-Invented the Improvised syringe with the chance brothers aged 14

Letitia Mumford Geer was born in 1852 to George Warren Geer and Cornelia Matilda Geer. She had four siblings, all whom live in New York.

When she was thirteen and studying in doctoring. She noticed that even if doctors knew how to prevent the disease or something but was ineffective. So she had a sudden brainwave and. Said ‘hey, what if I invent somethingthat can inject the medicine into the body?’ And wham, the syringe was born

A year later she invented the upgraded version that wouldn’t hurt as much with the Chance Brothers providing her with sufficient materials as she had to use what she can salvage in her first syringe
