Ho Chi Minh Trail

  • This was a network of roads built from North Vietnam to South Vietnam through Laos and Cambodia. It provided logistical support to the Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese army. Lastly it was a 16,000 kilometer web of tracks, roads, and waterways.

Napalms

  • A napalm was typically a jelly-like gas that combusted on impact of anything it touched/hit while falling from planes. However sometimes it also can be dropped in a bomb-shaped container that explodes upon impacts

Agent Orange

  • This is a powerful mixture of chemical defoliants used by the U.S. Military Forces during the Vietnam War. It eliminated tree cover for Vietcong Troops as well as crops that might be used to feed them.
  • Agent Orange was also known for its code name called Operation Ranch Hand. This program sprayed 19 million gallons of herbicides over 4.5 Acres from 1961-1972.
  • Unfortunately this was later revealed to cause serious health issues.

Search 'n' Destroy Missions

  • As a result from the U.S.'s stupidity and ignorance, they attempted to use military intelligence to weed out the Vietcong in the Southern hamlets, otherwise known as villages. They would drop in by helicopters and kill every moving thing that was not one of their own. However because of this useless tactic many innocent people were killed.
  • This technique eventually began to turn the Vietnamese people against the Americans.

Viet Cong Tunnels

  • These were pretty big tunnels that the North Vietnamese built/dug from the North to the South. They were especially useful for attempting sneak attacks on patrolling U.S. Troops during the war. However even though the tunnels themselves were bigger than needed there were entrances everywhere all along the trail itself. These entrances were much smaller than the tunnel itself so it was easy to hide them.

My Apologies

  • In the small chance that I made the mistake..
  • I may or may not have accidentally typed "Korea" or "Korean" instead of "Vietnamese" or "Vietnam".
  • I checked Time and time again but we'll see.
