PRESENTATION OUTLINE

SEEC Chemical Explosion STEAM Activity

For this lesson, I worked with a group of 4th graders. (P.S. my brother included!)

Watching the reactions between baking soda, salt, vinegar and food coloring, the students connected space art, crystals on the ISS, and chemical reactions!

What Went Well:
1) The students were engaged, attentive and excited!
2) The activity went smoothly and as intended.
3) The students asked meaningful questions through the lesson.

What I Would Improve:
1) I would prepare some crystals ahead of time, to show the students how they progressed.
2) I would try to better connect the lesson/activity to NASA and any current missions.

Overall, I think the activity went amazing!

I had fun, the students seemed to have fun, and the teacher invited me back anytime!
