Accomplishments cont..

  • Asma is a co-founder at Tamazight Women Movement, which focuses on gender equality and research on the indigenous women of Libya and North Africa

Asma Khalifa earned her title as being on the Top 100 list. She was brave enough to fight during the Qaddafi regime; putting her life in danger, losing a friend, as well as fighting his sexual harassment of women. Her non-violent way of protesting for women's rights in Africa and empowering young people is inspiring and I believe more people should follow her footsteps. Feminism is an important subject and while many think it is not needed here in America anymore, that is far from the truth.
Not to mention that protests here in America should be as peaceful and informative as she makes hers. Here, individuals seems to protest without informing others on the actual problem they are trying to defeat, so others tend to be misinformed by them and immediately try to silence their voices and counter-protest in fear of their rights being taken away, however they are doing the same without realizing. Peace should be the number one thing on everyone's mind during a conflict

In one paragraph summarize this person's contributions that earned them a spot on the Top 100 list.
