PRESENTATION OUTLINE
How Children Succeed Bookpoints
People may forget about the grades one makes.
People may forget about a subject in which one excelled.
But people will never forget one's character.
According to Paul Tough, success doesn't rely solely on cognitive skills.
Success can be achieved through non cognitive skills.
Tough says that character is created through our failures and successes.
The students served in my school, are the Riverdale students.
It makes a difference whether or not a student has a good support system.
The disparities between the haves and the have nots is very evident.
We see in this book through the scientists and Tough's personal insight, that disparities exist which can help or hinder a student's learning.
Tough sheds light that a child's intellectual and emotional experiences matter in character building.
This book will definitely be used for a PLC within my building.
It is my sincere hope, that teachers will be moved to give their all and not pity to the students we serve.
