Background

  • Born January 30th, 1882 in Hyde Park, New York
  • Graduated from Harvard with a BA degree in History in 3 years
  • He was the 32nd president of the USA
  • His parents were James Roosevelt and Sara Delano Roosevelt

FDR's life

  • He was married to to Anna Eleanor Roosevelt
  • They had 6 children, 5 of whom survived infancy
  • He was president Theodore's 5th cousin
  • He contracted polio while on vacation in 1921

Legacy

  • He is the only president to be elected 4 times
  • He created The New Deal, 100 days
  • He led our country through The Great Depression and WW2
  • Pearl Harbor "A day that will live in infamy"

  • Polio usually only affected kids
  • No good treatment for either disease at that time
