PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. Their children will be mighty in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.
9 They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor,
their righteousness endures forever;
their horn[c] will be lifted high in honor.
10 The wicked will see and be vexed,
they will gnash their teeth and waste away;
the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.
Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever. Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever.
They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures forever; their horn will be lifted high in honor. The wicked will see and be vexed, they will gnash their teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

Blessed -
- the result of some decision
- to be in a good place overall
- to have things going well
- to have the LORD's favor
Fear - to be in awe of God's works
- to have a healthy respect for His abilities
- fear that comes from "looking over the edge" I don't want to do that
LORD - his name, which means you know God well enough to appreciate he is:

And are on a "first name" basis
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. Psalm 110:11
Scholars believe tht Psalm 112 is an explanation of the last verse of Psalm 111.

Word that emphasizes hope in God - defined like this...to look forward with confidence to that which is good and beneficial, knowing God's hand is in the future
And his heart is strong instead of quaking in fear, because while his enemies may look powerful and organized now.........
in the end they will be scattered
Yet he will be honored now and later in the memory of those he helped
(Illus. horn will be lifted up....)
