Had a college degree and sold fruit at a fruit stand.
Fruit stands aren't allowed so the government destroys its, beats him up.
He protests to the government and they say no.
He gets so fed up that he lights himself on fire.

Dad dies, he's given power.
He won't allow protests and fires on his own people.
He doesn't allow freedom of speech.

3 CAUSES OF THE CIVIL WAR
After WWI, the British/French divided the Middle East, mixing religions.
Assad took away rights of people, speech, protesting.
Different religions, Sunni Muslim, Alawite, and Christians.

The Rebels, who the U.S. gives money to.
Assad's army, Alawites (like he is).
The Al-Queda, Hezbollah, and Isis.

America isn't actually in the war, but we are helping the Rebels.
We are helping the Rebels by giving them money and weapons.
It's complicated because we don't want to be in the war.

The UN of United Nations does not step into the war because China and Russia like Assad and are on his side.
And we are not best friends with China or Russia.

They along with USA, England, and France have the most power in the world.

CONSEQUENCES OF THE WAR
Wars are not a good thing, therefore, there are consequences.
220,000- 300,000 Syrians were killed in the war.
There were 3 million refugees fleeing because of the war.
