SPORTS-

  • The most popular sport In Kenya is soccer.
  • Soccer shows the youth of Kenya teamwork and physical skills.
  • Kenyans more likely support European teams more than there own.
  • Other sports include track and field, field hockey, rugby and cricket.

RELIGION-

  • Almost all Kenyans are Christians
  • The common types of Christians in Kenya are Protestant, Roman Catholic,and Muslim
  • 10% are people who follow nontraditional Christian faiths.
  • The people of the Christian church are peaceful.
  • If someone passes away the funeral can include indigenous and Christian people.

HEALTH AND FOOD

  • Patients in Africa have to make there own meals.
  • HIV has lowered the life expectancy in Kenya
  • They have conversations before and after their meals
  • Children don't eat with the adults
  • Men are served first.

FAMOUS PEOPLE

  • Jomo Kenyatta- was elected the 1889 first president. He held his position until he died in 1978
  • Wangari Maathai- was the first woman to receive the Nobel peace prize. She formed the green belt movement.

CLOTHING

  • Imported second hand clothing is popular and doesn't cost much.
  • Short clothes and light clothing is very common.
  • Only children and elderly men wear shorts.
  • Woman usually wear dresses

LANGUAGE

  • The two main languages of Kenya are English and Swahili.
  • English is used for education, business, and government.
  • Swahili is the national language.
  • Young people speak Sheng.

ECONOMY

  • The economy in Kenya has been really bad from the events it has.
  • They struggle with getting the basic needs
  • Agriculture is 75% of the work force
  • The tourist industry is major to the economy.
