Matter with a definite shape and volume. The particles in a solid are compacted together and vibrates in place. Example: Book
Liquids
Has definite volume but no definite shape. Particles are close together but they get to move freely. Example: Water
Gases
Does not have definite shape or volume. Particles are spread out evenly. They move at high speeds in all direction. Example: Smoke
