Football
Football was the most popular sport in the US.
The first NFL SuperBowl was played in January 1967. Green Bay Packers won the first 2 SuperBowl.

Football continued
In 1964 the rules changed on what color home and away teams were required to wear. Before that, home teams had to wear dark colors, while the away team had to wear white. After that rule was made, the home team got to choose what color to wear.

Basketball
The Boston Celtics won 9 out of 10 possible championship in professional basketball. In collage basketball UCLA was the team to beat. No one had beaten UCLA and they had completed the season of 1964 undefeated.

Volleyball
In the 1960s new volleyball techniques were created. The fore arm bump, defensive plays such as diving and sprawling, ect. Became a very big part of the game.

Volleyball continued
In 1964 volleyball was first played at the Olympics in Tokyo. In 1969 the World Cup was introduced and would be a qualifying event for the Olympics in 1991.

Gymnastics
Gymnastics was created in 1963 and supported clinics, training camps, team competitions and programs. Back then gymnastics had four events, these are still the same today. The events were the same but in the 60s they were broken down and not very safe to use.

Gymnastics continued
The most famous gymnast was Cathy Rigby.
