Balancing elements:

Placing your main subject off-center, as with the rule of thirds, creates a more interesting photo, but it can leave a void in the scene which can make it feel empty. You should balance the "weight" of your subject by including another object of lesser importance to fill the space.

Leading lines:

Leading lines refers to a composition technique whereby the viewer's eye is attracted to lines that lead directly to the principle subject in the image.

Background:
The general scene or surface against which designs, patterns, or figures are represented or viewed.

Depth:
The amount of distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appearing acceptably sharp focus in a photography

Framing:
Framing, especially in the photographic arts, is primarily concerned with the position and perspective of the viewer. The position of the observer has tremendous impact on their perception of the main subject, both in terms of aesthetics and in their interpretation of its meaning.

Cropping:
Cropping refers to the removal of the outer parts of an image to improve framing, accentuate subject matter or change aspect ratio. Depending on the application, this may be performed on a physical photograph, artwork or film footage, or achieved digitally using image editing software. The term is common to the film, broadcasting, photographic, graphic design and printing industries.
