PRESENTATION OUTLINE

SNOWSTORMS

SNOWFLAKES

Made when water vapor in the atmosphere is condensed into ice crystals

A FRONT IS FORMED WHEN

Cold, dry air masses interact with warm, moist air masses

COLD AIR MIGHT ADVANCE OVER THE WARM FRONT, BECOMING A COLD FRONT

Warm air might ride over the colder, denser air mass, becoming a warm front

WINTERSTORMS

Create by using energy from the clash of two air masses of different temps. And moisture levels

CLASSIFICATION

Snowstorms can be classified as a blizzard or it could be called a Nor Easter if it is located in the North East

BLIZZARDS

BLIZZARDS GENERALLY OCCUR WHEN...

Polar air comes down and mixes with warm moist air from lower latitudes

BLZZARDS USUALLY OCCUR OVER LAND AND OCEAN

Moving into northern regions

IT LASTS...

Until winds can't support ice particles
