Vietnam War
At the time, Vietnam was separated into North Vietnam, who believed in Communist rule, and South Vietnam, going against Communism. When the Cold War started, North Vietnam joined the Soviet Union, while South Vietnam joined with America. At this time, Nixon was finally elected as president after his second election. He sent troops to help out South Vietnam, because he believed in a fair, free Democracy.

The Watergate Scandal of the 1970's was at first a rumor that government officials were involved in the break-in at the Democratic National Election Headquarters, located in the Watergate complex in Washingon, D.C. Later on, this theory was proven true, and Nixon's fellow government officials were slowly resigning, forcing Nixon to also resign.
