PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Once upon a time in the land of Mesopotamia reigned the Babylonians. These great warriors took control over the land of Nineveh along with most of the land in Mesopotamia. They now had established a new Empire called Neo-Babylonia, Neo meaning New.
Their daily life was great mostly praying to the gods hoping their wishes would come true. They had previously rebuilt their ziggurat, it was now seven stories high and had gardens that cascaded down the side from the balconies and roof tops. In this land a king named Nebuchadrezzar reigned. Normally when you hear the name King Nebuchadrezzar you don't think of weak or dependent, but that's exactly how his legacy started.
One day he was in his ziggurat praying to the god, Hammurabi, for help. Having pity on him the gods gave him one wish of any desire he had. He was grateful for the response and asked them for great leadership skills, and of course the gods kept their promise and granted this one wish for the king. This wish had made Nebuchadezzar a mighty king with amazing skills of leadership. His people cheered him on as he lead them to many victories. King Nebuchadrezzar felt great and a couple days later he drove the Egyptians right out of Syria like wolves chasing sheep. Later he sacrificed the pharaoh of egypt's crown to the pleased Hammurabi and was granted 2 new wishes, a knack for gardening and academics.
This had been another great benefit to the Empire, if there is a good and strong leader there comes a strong and powerful Empire. Now the king had become practically invincible, especially with the Israelite slaves working for him the Empire grew quickly. This Empire was also the first to invent "floating gardens" and a variety of other helpful items.
Sooner or later he felt no need for the gods' help any longer and cut off all connections between them, leaving himself to fend on his own. When the gods realized what he had done they became furious with outrage quickly taking action by sending the great King Cyrus to declare war.
King Nebuchadezzar prepared his army as fast as he could, knowing that the gods had sent this threat. He knew he had brung this upon himself and soon regretted it as the Neo-Babylonian Empire had finally been defeated. King Cyrus had won the war and had claimed the land of Neo-Babylonia ending Nebuchadezzar's reign. This had made the gods satisfied with themselves and made King Cyrus the new ruler over the land.
