why do we celerbrate anzac day?

  • We celebrate ANZAC to remember who fought in WWI in Gallipoli 
  • also for who have died in the army.

What is the SIGNIFICANCE of anzac day?

  • The significance of ANZAC is that the forces from New Zealand and Australia
  • Anzac (Australia New Zealand Army Corps)
  • We also celebrate the one who fought and died

What role did New Zealand have in te war?

  • New Zealand played an big role in WWI they had over 100,000 soldiers 
  • War started on the 28th July 1914 and lasted until 11th of November 1918

What's the meaning/significance of the poppies?

  • The poppies are symbolised to remember the fallen and still standing soldiers
  • I heard that poppies were made from the blood of the fallen soldier

Why did the war occur?

  • Because archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of the Austo – Hungarian empire
  • and his wife Sophie were assassinated in the Bosnian city of Sarajevo.

how do New Zealanders celebrate ANZAC day?

  • We have two services held one called the dawn services which is at 6:00 am
  • second one at 9:15 am and we wear poppies
