The devastation of the trail of tears,due in large part to the efforts of their principal chief,John Ross,the Cherokee were able to rebuild their civilization to,or even surpassing,the level it had attained prior to 1838

History
Cherokee lived in a village near the river.Had farmland near their home.Built their house out of cane and plaster their roofs was thatched.When 1800s came they built log cabins and the started to built house like the white settles made

The Cherokee nation and the Delaware tribe of Indians have signed an agreement allowing the Delaware to seek and receive federal housing funding directly from the U.S.Housing and urban development
