What is an Aztec?
An Aztec is a mesoamerican tribe of people that slaughtered total buts. They arrived around 1250 C.E. From Aztlan 🌚

HOW AND WHERE DID THE EMPIRE RISE

The Aztecs arrived in the valley of Mexico where they beat the turds out of Teotihuacans. This was around 1200's

THE CLASS STRUCTURE

The class structure began with the ruler who the rest considered semi divine. He decided when to wage war.

Next, was government officials, priests, and military leaders. The ruler was supported by these people. These people took control of tributes and new buildings.

Then there was commoners, the highest ranked commoners was a pochtecha, pochtecas could be spies. These people were kinda middle class, but a little more up in rank...

Next was peasants. Peasants unlike slaves were free people, but they were looked bad at by the commoners...

And finally, slaves. Slaves were like peasants but they weren't free people...

FAMILY LIFE

Woman had a higher status than men, the father was the master of the house but woman had their own rights. Married women could own and sell goods. The men had to build the house and the women cooked food. Aztec women made beautiful clothes...

AZTEC WARFARE

War was the center of life. These warriors slaughtered their enemies or prey, they were so cool. I wish I was a warrior.

Warfare resulted on more territory, laborers, and sacrificial victims.

RELIGEOUS BELIEFS

Aztecs believed that the gods were the key to survival. They pleased the gods by doing ritual things

WHAT DID THEY DO?

• Priest brought flowers,
• They also brought ears of maze
• Clothing,
• pictures made from wood
• Oh, and people🌚

They believed the sun was a warrior who fought the dark, they sacrificed things for the sun.

SLAVERY...

Slaves, they did the dirty work. They were used for rituals and for cleaning things. They were treated badly, so badly that it wasn't funny. Not cool...

THE BEGGINING OF THE END...

In the end, Cortes came and attacked the Aztecs which ended up in a war. The spaniards killed tons of Aztecs and enslaved the remaining Aztecs. They also got diseased...(thanks nick :))
