PRESENTATION OUTLINE
FEELINGS
You should feel more pregnant and confident of yourself than you felt in the beginning of the month.
FATIGUE
As the weeks go by you should feel more energetic and not be wiped out so easily. Your body is preparing for the demands of providing for two.
BREAST CHANGES
The breasts should be more firm during pregnancy. Also, they should also grow at least one cup size.
FREQUENT URINATION
By the end of the third month, your body will adjust to the hormones and the urge to pee more.
MORNING SICKNESS
Because of the amount of hormones produced, you will have morning sickness. This will usually last for about a month, but for some, it may last a bit longer.
CONSTIPATION
If constipation is still a problem, address it with your doctor during your next visit and they will give you advice on how to get rid of the problem.
HEARTBURN AND INDIGESTION
This is common at this time throughout pregnancy. It is caused by hormones and can usually be helped by taking TUMS.
FLATULENCE
Flatulence, commonly known as gas, is very common throughout pregnancy, but you may not experience it. At this time, the hormones are surging through your body, including your digestive track, which is something you can't control.
HEADACHES
They are common during pregnancy and are caused by hormones, or the excessive blood flow that starts during pregnancy that feeds to your baby. DO NOT take any pain relieving medications without consulting your doctor.
ACNE
During pregnancy, the hormones are shifted and could cause you to get pimples. You should NOT use any acne medication, which could cause a miscarriage.
EXCESSIVE SALIVA
During the second month, you may start to notice that you are producing excess saliva and may be drooling on your pillow when you sleep. But, you may not notice it at all if this is your first pregnancy.
MOODINESS
When you are pregnant you could turn into an emotional mess. If anyone complains about your emotions, they obviously haven't experienced pregnancy.
FEELINGS OF JOY, FEAR, AND UNCERTAINTY
Because you are further along in your pregnancy things seem more real, and feelings of fear or uncertainty are starting to diminish if not a lot then ever so slightly. If your feelings of fear and uncertainty haven't changed then that's ok too. Pregnancy is a big step in life and it takes more time for others to feel more comfortable with it.
FEELING LIKE YOU ARENT PREGNANT
Just like morning sickness, this phase is almost over. If this is your first pregnancy, within the next two months you should start feeling your stomach harden slightly and you'll slowly and gradually feel like you truly are pregnant. If this is your second or more pregnancy than you should start feeling like you are pregnant with in the next month. The best thing to do is keep yourself busy, and to keep your mind off feeling pregnant.
ARE YOU GROWING?
By the middle or the end of the second month your clothes will start to get a little tight around the waistline. If this is so, don't go out and by maternity clothes. Even though you may have that urge to go shopping for the latest maternity wear, it'll still be at least another two to four months before maternity clothes will actually fit and look normal on you. Until then if you are a mainly stay at home type person, it is ok to go out and buy a few pairs of sweat pants and sweat shirts. If possible try to buy them a size too large so you can wear them while you grow.
