World War II was caused because of the end of World War I. At the end of the first war, all the countries that fought in the war blamed Germany. They made Germany pay all the countries millions of dollars. Around this time, the great depression started and when it reached Germany, they were in lots of trouble. They were looking for a leader and that's when they found Adolf Hitler. He wanted to make the countries pay for what they did so he created an army. The war officially started when they bombed Poland.

  • Born on 1882
  • In 1921, he was paralyzed with a disease and he had to be on a wheelchair (permanently)
  • President from 1933-1945
  • He joined the US Navy after attending Harvard
  • President from 1933-194
  • 32nd United States President
  • He was then elected governer of New York City
  • He started the new deal when great depression happened
  • Because of the new deal, stock markets were regulated
  • He was a good listener, he traveled around the world to hear yo put her peoples opinions and ideas
  • During the time America joined the war, it helped them build the United Nations

Adolf Hitler was a leader of Germany from 1933 to 1945. He was the leader of the Nazi party and became a powerful dictator. Hitler started World War II by invading Poland and many other countries, but mainly European countries. He is also known for waiting to exterminate the Jewish people in the holocaust.

Winston Churchill was one of the great world leaders of the 20th Century. His leadership helped Britain to stand strong against Hitler and the Germans. Churchill attended the Royal Military College and joined the British cavalry upon graduation. While in South Africa, during Second Boer War, Churchill was captured and became a prisoner of war. He managed to escape from the prison and traveled 300 miles to be rescued.
