Greek Myth
Ursa Major is identified with Callisto, a nymph that Zeus fell in love with. Zeus' wife, Hera, turned Callisto into a bear because Hera was jealous. Years later, Callisto met Zeus' son, Arcas. When Arcas was about to shoot Callisto, Zeus placed them both in the sky.
