Gloria Emerson was born on May 19, 1929 in New York City. She was a journalist and war correspondent for the New York Times. She wrote many books about the Vietnam War. She died on August 3, 2004.

Gloria Emerson mostly covered the Vietnam War when she was a war correspondent.

Gloria Emerson was in major danger it's great job as a journalist stationed in a fearing land in the midst of war. She was right in the middle of gunshots and warfare. Surprisingly she was one of the few journalist who did not die from the dangers of war, she died at home in August of 2004.

Gloria Emerson won the 1978 National Book Award about the Vietnam War. She won very many other book awards as well.

Before she had become a war correspondent Gloria Emerson was a writer for the women's side in the paper. She said, "getting a job on the women's page was a gift from heaven".

I believe that war correspondents are very brave and convening of their work. They risk their lives to bring us news on feared lands and wars. I think it's worth it because your informing your country.
