The pancreas receives food and converts that food into a source of energy for the body, many people don't know what the pancreas is but it's actually a very important organ!
What fluids does the pancreas use?
The pancreas produces hormones called glucagon and insulin, insulin is released after you have too much sugar in your body. It helps regulate the sugar your body gets from eating, and sends them into your muscles and other cells. Glucagon is released from the pancreas when the amount of glucose in the blood stream falls low.
What cells is the pancreas made up of?
The part of the pancreas with endocrine function is made up of approximately a million cell clusters called islets of Langerhans.
What organs does the pancreas work with?
The pancreas releases something called bicarbonate, bicarbonate balances or kills the acid that comes from your intestine into your stomach. Also the liver and brain, when the pancreas produces glucagon it makes the liver release sugar that makes the brain "feel good."
