  • A true Christian community must follow the Bible as closely as possible
  • Whatever could not be justified by the Bible was to be abolished
  • Faith meant an active commitment to God
  • Religion was a personal experience which didn't need sacraments to sustain it
  • Opposed the sale of indulgences and to religious superstition
