FOOD CHAINS

• Food Chains show the flow of energy
• All energy comes from the sun, radiant emergy
• Shows all the feeding relationships between orgnisms in an ecosystem
• Arrows show the flow of energy, they point to the predator
• The most energy is in the producers.

SPEED, VELOCITY, AND ACCELERATION

• Speed is the rate used to measure distance over a period of time
• Velocity is the measure of speed in a given direction
• Acceleration is the change of velocity over a period of time
• If the speed or direction changes then you have acceleration.

ENERGY

• Electrical: delivered by tinycharged particles called electrons
• Radiant: travels by visible light
• Nuclear: found in the nucleus of an atom
• Thermal: when objects are heated up its molecules move faster
• Mechanical: potential energy stored in objects, kinetic when moving

ENERGY (CONT.)

• Chemical: Energy stored within the bonds of atoms and molecules.
• Sound: Sound is produced when a force causes an object or substance to vibrate.
