WHAT PEASANTS HOUSES WERE LIKE

  • Peasants lived in towns
  • The houses were mase of stones & branches covered with mud and straw
  • Roofs were thatened
  • Dirt floors & small windows without glass

Did they own their own home?

No, the lord basically owns you and all of your possessions so the lord owned your house.

PEASANTS CLOTHES

  • Men: tunics & long socks
  • Women: long dresses & wool socks
  • Usually gray, red, and brown
  • Men & women wore clogs
  • Children: same as adults

WHO HAS POWER OVER THE PEASANTS?

  • The monarchs
  • The pope
  • The nobles
  • The knights

PEASANTS' DINNER

  • Bread, porridge, veggies, & meat
  • Gardens contained veggies & fruit trees
  • And if they could afford cows; milk

  • They work the fields
  • They didnt have many toys
  • Didnt go to school

Worst thing about their life?

You belong to the lord because all own of your possessions belong to the lord.

Hopes for the future

Their hopes were to get married, educated, & to work the land and survive.

  • Fearful the lord would take their land
  • Starving to death
  • Not being able to pay for things

HOW DID PEASANTS STAY WARM?

  • Clothes were made warmer
  • They huddle together

If YOUR AREA IS INVADED BY A STRONGER FORCE WILL YOUR LIFE CHANGE?

Yes, they wouldn't really have anywhere to live if their land was taken. They would probably become serfs.
