Was the time when the birth rate increased by a lot.
Exactly nine months after WWII ended 3.4 million babies were born .They made up almost 40% of our nation.
Globalization
Globalization is a process of integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process of international trade by information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems, on economic development and prosperity.
Civil Rights Movement
National movement led by African American leaders to end racial discrimination in our country.
Orangeburg Massacre
Black students protesting a all white bowling alley ,were shot by the highway patrol and national guard .
White Flight
White students went to private schools to avoid integration.White people migrated from the inner city areas to suburbs.Mor private schools were built.
Brown Vs.Board - is when a little african American girl had to go to school on the other side of town when there was a white school right around the corner And they refused to let her go .
Strom Thurmond
Governor of Sc for 1947-1951.He brought in new industry after WWII.He extended the school year to 9 months and added the 12th grade.He supported segregation .
