SADAKO was a baby of three years old when the U.S.Dropped the atom bomb on Hiroshima to end the war. This book tells the story of a young girl who gets leukemia from the radiation given off by the bomb. She is eleven years old when she dies.
This is an inspiring novel because it is about a young girl who has become a symbol of peace today. She believed that paper cranes would make her wishes come true.
Every year on Peace Day, people from around the world send paper cranes to Sadako's statue in Japan
