WHAT IS LCM? LCM is when you take 2 numbers and find the multiple that is the same for both numbers. Then you find the first or lowest multiple and then that is the LCM.
HOW DO YOU KNOW? For example take 5 and 6. The LCM would be 30. You would know it is because if you list all the multiples for each number.6x5 = 30 so list multiples of 6, 5 times. Then do the same but for 5x6. Then you found the LCM for both numbers.
EXAMPLES OF LCM The lowest common multiples of 10 and 20 is 20, because the first two multiples of 10 are 10 & 20 and then the multiple of 20 is 20 which is the LCM of 10 & 20. The LCM of 4 & 6 is twelve, since 4x3=12 and 6x2=12 so its the LCM of the two numbers.
