TERMS

  • Disaster: a sudden event , such as an accident that causes damages.
  • Evacuation: the action of evacuating a person or place.
  • Route: a way or course taken to get from a starting point to a destination.
  • Alternate: occur in turn repeatedly
  • Topography: the arrangement of the natural and artificial physical features of an area.

HOW TO BE PREPARED FOR A VOLCANO ERUPTION.

  • Have an evacuation plan and a sheltering plan.
  • Make sure everyone understands the plan when reviewing.
  • Make an emergency supply kit.
  • Have a sheltering or evacuation place.
  • Pack an emergency kit for your vehicle.

PREPARING TO EVACUATE

  • Turn on television for volcano updates.
  • Listen for disaster and/or warning signals.
  • Review your emergency plans and get your emergency supplies.
  • Get in your vehicle
  • Fill your gas tank up

CONT.

  • Fill tubs & sinks with water for emergency water supply.
  • Have a week worth medicine prepared.
  • Disconnect all applicance.
  • Make sure all evacuation routes & alternate routes are open.
