POPULATION: 1,500-2,000 ADULTS WITH NO EVIDENCE OF IMPROVEMENT

DUE TO INVASIVE SPECIES AND RESTRICTED LIVING AREA

LIVES ONLY ON MONA ISLAND OF PUERTO RICO

IS PROTECTED BY U.S. ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT AND LEY DE VIDA AND PUERTO RICO FOREST ACT

THIS SPECIES SHOULD BE SAVED BECAUSE IT IS AN EXOTIC SPECIES

THAT MEANS IT IS A RARE SPECIES WE COVANT RARE METALS WHY NOT RARE ANIMALS

THIS SPECIES UNDER PROTECTION ALLOWS PEOPLE TO HAVE IT FOR MANY OF YEARS

THEY ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO BE OWNED AND THEIR HABITAT IS PROTECTED LIKE IT SHOULD BE

THEY MAINLY EAT FRUITS, LEAVES, AND OTHER PLANT LIFE

HOWEVER THEY ALSO EAT ANIMAL MATTER LIKE CRABS AND INSECT LARVAE

TO HELP SAVE THE MONA GROUND IGUANA
