chap.1

Babies were thrown into the air and used as targets
Its sad what humanity started to do. It make people think what could come next after those inhuman things the nazi's did.

Chap.1

I am to old my son
Its always terrible to hear your parents say their are old.It makes you think that soon they might not be with their love one's for ever. It also make you cry.

chapter 2 quote

'' Fire Fire''
Its sad how they did not ask her why she saw fire if their was no fire in sight. If they had asked something different could have had happened.

Chap.3 Quote.1

I saw several boys of your age going with their mothers
It is sad he said that because at that moment they did not know that those kids and their mothers were walking straight to their death.

chap.3 pg.33 qoute.2

'' personally, Im not hungry.''
His father said he wasn't very hungry so he could give his food to his son the next day. Its sad that they gave them very little food and made them work a lot. It is also shows the love that a father has for his son that he was willing to giving up his meal to give it to his son for the next day.

chapter.3 quote.3 page.29

'' Remember it forever. Engrave it into your minds''.
Its no doubt the survivors will remember it forever. They were victims of the most inhuman thing anyone has ever done. They didn't need to engrave it in their minds because it would be impossible to forget what they had been victims to.

Chapter.4 Pg.39 Quote.1

It might be be useful to me one day to buy something bread or life.
How sad it makes you feel that some people's life depended on a gold tooth in case they some day didnt have food or they could save their life with. For example "you'r fathers life or your tooth."

chapter.4 quote.2

'' look at this little officer teaching the old chap to march..''
They made fun of them because they didn't know what was going to happen. The kid just wanted to help his father so he wouldn't suffer when the time came to start marching. It saddens me because that's what they caused for kids to teach their fathers so they would't get beaten in front of everybody.

Chapter.5 quote.1

Yes you'r lucky
Why would he tell him he is lucky after all of the things he has been through. After losing his mother and sister. After leaving his home and friends. He was going to be examined and if he failed he was going to die and yet he was lucky. This only tells you how inhuman this was.

chapter.5 quote.2

I've got more faith in Hitler than in anyone else
How could he have faith in the man who is determined to destroy he type of people and blame everything on his culture. Yet he still has faith in him? how could he? I don't think I could ever have faith in some one who took my family apart who took me out of my home and who is working me to death.

chapter.6 quote.1

'' Don't let yourself be overcome by sleep,..it's dangerous to sleep''.
Its impossible not to go to sleep after having run 42 miles. They where so numb that he felt the snow warm and felt like he could sleep in it. The caring father who didn't let him self go to sleep so he could wake up his son in case he did. Its very inhumane how they treated them.

chapter.7 quote.1

"He isn't dead! Not yet!"
He could not let his father get thrown off the train like that, he didn't know if his father was dead or not he just had to take the risk and jump on him so the gravediggers would not take him and throw him out. That's the most in humane way to torture someone. Let them starve, freeze them to death and mentally scar the ones who didn't freeze to death. After that take them to a concentration camp and work them to death with very little food. This saddens me that they wanted to exterminated this ethnic group and most of those children at my age and going through all of that torture is something that I would never survive.

chapter.8 quote.1

''The doctor can't do anything for him, and neither can you.''
The worst thing to hear some one say to you is that the doctor can't do anything for him. I would have gotten mad if some one told me to give up on my dying father, I would spend most of my time with my father give him my share of food and ration of bread, if he died he would die happy and with a full belly. He would deserve that since he had helped him stay alive through out the time they had been prisoners, they had stayed together and his father from time to time given up his food to feed his son.
