HOW TO WIN AN UN WINNABLE WAR

Problem 1

• Americans would be ambushed
• It is hard to spot the VC
• The VC have a system of underground tunnels

Solution 1

• Travel facing all directions surrounding the map reader
• If you see a tunnel blow it up

Problem 2

• VC guerrilla tactics, hit and run, set traps
• Traps would include trip wires attached to grenades and spikes in a hole

Solution 2

• Walk with a poking stick to find traps
• Be on your guard and become defensive if you get attacked

Problem 3

• VC scouts in the trees would signal when the americans were near
• This allowed fire to come from below and above

Solution 3

• Napalm the trees
• The US would be able to see
• If you hear tapping, get ready and search the trees

Problem 4

• The Vietcong waited until the US soldiers got too close to bomb
• When the Americans knew their position, they couldn't bomb because they were too close

SOLUTION 4

• If you get ambushed, RUN!
• If you retreat you can call in an airstike
• Might sound cowardly, but it could save your life
