PRESENTATION OUTLINE

AREA, PERIMETER, CIRCUMFERENCE

SQUARE

  • To find the area of a square you need to multiply
  • base times height. Ex. A= B x h, 5 x5= 25
  • To find the perimeter, you need to add all of the sides
  • together. Ex. 5+5+1+6= 17. The perimeter is 17

RECTANGLE

  • The equation to find the area of a rectangle
  • Is the same as a square. Multiply base times height
  • The perimeter is also the same. Add all sides together .

PARALLELOGRAM

  • The way to find thearea of a parallelogram
  • is the same as a rectangle and a square.
  • B x h. Ex. 4ft x 5ft =20 ft

TRIANGLE

  • The equation of the are of a triangle
  • is 1/2b x h = a. Ex. 1/2 4 x 6 =
  • 1/2 24= 12

TRAPAZOID

  • the area of a trapazoid
  • Is 1/2(b1 + b2) h. 1/2 (2+3) 2
  • 1/2 5x2= 1/2 10. 1/2 10= 5

CIRLCE

  • The area of a circle is
  • Pi x 2r ( r= radius). 3.14
  • x 2(2). 3.14 x 4 = 12.56

CIRLCE CIRCUMFERENCE

  • The circumference of a Circle is
  • 2pi x radius.
  • Ex. 2(3.14) x 2 = 12.56
