SENSATIONAL SEASONS

SUMMER

  • In June & July there's more direct sunlight because the tilt of the earth
  • Summer solicits start June 21
  • The tilt is 23 degrees and it's the highest point
  • Longer days and shorter nights

FALL

  • Fall equinox starts around September 22
  • When sun lights on Earth the days and nights are equal
  • Seasons are opposite on either side of the equator
  • Earths orbit changes it's orientation very slowly
  • Less direct sunlight which causes colder weather

WINTER

  • Winter solicits begins December 21
  • Longest nights and shortest days
  • Indirect sunlight because Earth isn't facing the sun
  • Earth is positioned in its orbit so the sun stays below

SPRING

  • Spring equinox begins March 20
  • Earth axis tilts towards sun, increasing daylight hours
  • The sunlight brings warm weather which causes plants for new growth
  • Earths orbit is changing its orientation very slowly
