CLIMATE AND VEGETATION The climate of the Andes mountains changes with elevation. In the Andes mountains here are over 15 million trees in the just the Adean zone. In the polylepis forest in the Andes mountains there are 20 ever green tree species.
FACTS Longer than any other mountain range above sea level, the Andes are the world's second highest range. The tallest Andean peak, mount Aconcagua is the western hemisphere's tallest mountain.

CLIMATE AND VEGETATION Patagonia is influenced by the South Pacific westly air current which brings which brings humid winds from the ocean to the continent these winds lose their humidity through cooling and condensation as they blow over the west coast of South America and over the Andes so the winds are dry when they reach Patagonia. Patagonia has shrub forests,grasses, and shrubs.
FACTS Patagonia covers about one-third of the land area of both chile and Argentina. The region comprises the southern section of the of the Andes mountains as well as the deserts,steppes,and grasslands east of this southern portion of the Andes.
