PYOTR LLYICH TCHAIKOVSKY'S EARLY LIFE

  • He was born May 7,1840
  • He died November 6,1893
  • When he was 5 he began to take piano lessons
  • At the age of 10 he began taking the imperials school of Jurisprudence
  • When he was 21 he decided to take music lessons at the Russian Musical Society

LATER LIFE

  • His first public performance was with Johann Strauss the Younger
  • The following year his first opera The Voyevoda
  • Also in 1874 his opera Vakula the Smith received harsh critical reviews
  • He was never married
  • He composed 169 pieces including symphonies,operas,ballet,concertos cantatas and songs

MOST FAMOUS

  • His most famous were the ballets Sleeping Beauty1890 and The Nutcracker1892
  • 1812 overture was a well know song by Tchaikovsky
