  • When German president Paul von Hindenburg died
  • Hitler assumed the powers of the presidency

  • quickly became a regime in which Germans enjoyed no basic rights.
  • The Nazi's had full control of the Third Reich and with the help of
  • Hitler they were not letting go of it
