PRESENTATION OUTLINE

TRACE EVIDANCE

First Case
In my first case a murder was finally solved 31 years after it was committed. Trace evidence such as DNA from a cigaret and skin under nails. The case took so long because of the inexperience of the detective and infancy of forensic analysis.

Case Two
In this case trace evidence was used differently. Items used in the homicide such as twine, cable ties, and a dog collar were traced back to the suspect. This along with DNA from hair was used to solve the case.

Case Three
In this case hair was also used. The murderer, Marquis, kidnapped his victim and killed her. He took her cloths and threw them out of his car and there they stayed for many years. After some leads they were tipped as to wear the cloths might be. As luck had it a construction crew had uncovered the cloths, leaving them preserved. On the clothes a single hair was found and used to convict the accused.
