George Bush was born on July 6, 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut, but was raised in Texas.
He had 5 siblings but one tragically passed away due to leukemia.
President Bush served in the military from 1968-1974 as first lieutenant in 147th Reconnaissance Wing, and 187th Fighter Wing in the Texas Air National Guard and the Alabama Air National Guard.
He is a Yale and Harvard University graduate. He married Laura Welch and had 2 children. He became the 43rd president of the U.S.
Eight short months after his election, the September 11 terrorist attacks took place in New York, knocking town the World Trade Center, leaving the world in awe.
Bush declared war in Afghanistan in 2001, and the war in Iraq in 2003 due to the terrorist attacks on the U.S.
Bush passed the No Child Left Behind Act, meaning to fund federal schools. The point of this act is to improve individual outcomes in education.
Bush also passed many other acts and laws such as broad tax cut, PATRIOT act, partial- birth abortion ban act, and PEPFAR
Bush ran for re-election against John Kerry in 2004, and it was a successful debate. Bush took another term.
