  • It was believed to have began in the 1930's
  • It was believed to have started in Africa
  • It was believed to have came from monkeys
  • AIDS was at first considered a disease of gay men and drug addicts

  • Transferred through bad medical equipment
  • Transferred through blood
  • Transferred through sexual intercourse
  • Transferred through bite with cut in mouth.

ORPHANS

  • 91% of the world’s HIV-positive children live in Africa.
  • 2,500,000 lost one or both parents due to aids
  • 63% of african children are orphaned due to aids
  • Statistics vary between rural urban areas

ECONOMIC IMPACT

  • Aids reduce human capita
  • People affected with aids are unable to work
  • People affected with aids require lots of medical
  • Economy with crumble with out people workign and requiring lots of medical care.

ANTIRETROVIRALS

  • 700,000 lives were saved in 2010 alone due to antiretroviral therapy very few of these people from africa.
  • Antiretrovirals decreases the patient's total burden of HIV.
  • Cost a lot so it is hard to get for people in africa.
  • 56% of people affected in 2011 were available for treatment few in africa.
