  • Penetrants- pierce the body of prey
  • Volvents- attaches to small projections
  • Spirocytes- coiled around the capsule in resting stage
  • Ptychocysts- Tubules that form adhesive net on release

DIFFERENT KINDS OF NEMATOCYSTS

  • Glutinants- inject hypnotoxin
  • Stereoline glutinants- have a strait and unharmed tube at the tip
  • Streptoline glutinants- tip has a spiral row of small pines.
