PRESENTATION OUTLINE
French for "chewed paper", is a composite material consisting of paper pieces or pulp, sometimes reinforced with textiles, bound with an adhesive, such as glue, starch, or wallpaper paste.
The traditional method of making papier-mâché adhesive is to use a mixture of water and flour or other starch, mixed to the consistency of heavy cream.
Starting around 1725 in Europe, gilded papier-mâché began to appear as a low-cost alternative to similarly treated plaster or carved wood in architecture.
Historically it has been made in a wide range of applications, from decorative profiles and moldings, boats, buildings and furniture.
So now that you know what paper mâché was used for and the reason it started for my final product I decided to make a paper mâché giraffe C:
Fist I cut out a giraffe outline made of cardboard
Then I covered it with tissue paper and I used glue and water to make it stick
After I covered it again but with white paper, the reason for this is so the paint looks brighter.
Finally i applied paint and yarn for the hairs and then wait for it to dry
