FALKLANDS WAR
Fought between Britain and Argentina of the long standing dispute
over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands.
Leaders at this time were Margaret Thatcher of Britain and President Leopoldo
Galtieri of Argentina. Argentine forces invaded and occupied the Falklands
Islands. In response, the British Government dispatched a naval task force.

Argentina surrendered June 14th, 1982
Galtieri was removed from power almost immediately after the war.
There were uprisings and as a result the bans on political parties were
lifted and democracy was placed. Relations between Britain and Argentina
were restored in 1985 when they agreed to support each other in oil
