THE BASICS OF NEON
Melting Point: 24.56 K (-248.59°C or -415.46°F)
Boiling Point: 27.07 K (-246.08°C or -410.94°F)
Density: 0.0008999 grams per cubic centimeter
At Room Temperature: Its a gas
Element Classification: Non-metal
3.
THE ORIGINS
In 1894, Ramsay and Lord Rayleigh had discovered argon
Then, in 1895, Ramsay obtained the world’s first sample of helium
Ramsay and Traerse knew an element had to exist between helium and argon
They evaporated argon under reduced pressure and collected the first gas that came off
Neon was finally discovered in 1898 by William Ramsay and Morris Traerse

MORE COOL FACTS
Neon gas in a light can last 15 years continuously on
One quart of neon gas can light up 200-300 feet of glass tubing
Neon light can pass through fog
